Remarks:Truly Gujarati, offers pure veg thali for lunch & dinner. Daily changing menus with traditional home preparations by the Maharaj. If you are a vegetarian and love vegetables, you must home in on Bhojan. It has the advantage of having a Standard Thali, reasonably priced at Rs.125 for an adult, and Rs.75 for children. The fixed menu starts with a welcome drink and contains two mithais, two starters, four vegetables, Dal/Kadhi, Phulka, Thepla, Bhakri, puri, paratha, Rice/Jeera Rice/Pulao, an assortment of chutney’s, Chaas and ice cream. The helpings are unlimited and make this thali very popular. Bhojan has a pleasing ethnic decor and can accommodate about 48 people. It’s a good place for family rendezvous as they don’t serve liquor and smoking is not allowed.

Remarks: This is one of the old and most popular cafe in Panaji and has recently been renovated with the old kitchen being replaced by an elegant, air-conditioned dining area that offers an all-new menu. They used to serve snacks like samosas, Poori Bhaji and some tea, coffee and cold drinks but now offer lunch and dinner specials. Their Poori Bhaji continues to be famous especially because they are served piping hot on the table and can be enjoyed with Sukhi (potato) Bhaji or Aloo Subzi as it is called in Goa. This is a good place to try the popular Goan vegetable dish, Patal Bhaji, which is a type of Chana Masala. The new menu has North Indian veggie delights like Jalfrezi, Kadai Paneer, Malai Kofta and Veg Biryani. There’s also a limited Chinese menu with items like Gobi Manchurian and Babycorn Chilli. They also have juices, milk shakes and faludas here.

Remarks:Around since 1935, Gujarat Lodge is a restaurant cum sweet mart cum takeaway joint offering pure veg Gujarati Jain fare, which is unavailable elsewhere in Goa. The traditional Gujarati Thali is just about average in terms of taste. Snacky items like Papdi Chaat, Palak Pakodi, Aloo Tikki and Bombay Sandwiches are well done while Cheese Corn Grill is a speciality item here.
